Project Overview

FixWell Plumbing recently completed the supply and installation of a scale inhibitor in Hanwell, W7 3JQ.

The property had an existing domestic water supply system with copper pipework and plumbing fittings. The existing installation was inspected before the existing water treatment component was removed and a new Liff scale inhibitor was installed into the water supply pipework.

The installation was completed carefully within the existing pipework arrangement. The system was then tested to confirm that all connections were secure, operational, and watertight.

Scope of Work

Inspected the existing domestic water supply and copper pipework.
Assessed the existing water treatment installation and connections.
Isolated the water supply before commencing work.
Removed the existing scale treatment component.
Supplied and installed a new Liff scale inhibitor.
Tested the system to confirm correct operation.
Connected the new unit securely to the existing copper pipework.
Checked accessible isolation valves and plumbing connections.
Checked all new and disturbed connections for leaks.
Confirmed that the completed installation was secure and watertight.
Restored the water supply following installation.

The Installation

Scale build-up is a common concern in hard-water areas and can affect taps, showers, and other plumbing components over time.

For this project, the existing pipework configuration was retained where suitable, allowing the new scale inhibitor to be incorporated into the domestic water supply without unnecessary alterations.

Particular attention was given to the existing copper pipework and surrounding connections due to the age and condition of the installation. Once the new unit had been fitted, the water supply was restored and the pipework was thoroughly checked for leaks.

Outcome

The scale inhibitor installation in Hanwell was successfully completed, providing the property with an updated water treatment component while retaining the existing copper plumbing system.

Following installation, the system was tested and all relevant connections were inspected for leaks. The completed installation was confirmed to be secure, operational, and watertight.
